A new promo for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released, highlighted with our first look at John Boyega’s Finn firing up what appears to be an iconic blue bladed lightsaber.
It’s short, but a sweet (15 second) teaser. This new spot features a familiar voice over by Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and quick new shots of Rey (Daisy Ridley) with BB-8, and a called-to-arms Finn (Boyega) ready to take on Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in the snow, wielding what sure looks like the Skywalker lightsaber last seen falling into the depths of Bespin City.
It was first officially revealed that Finn would be using the elegant Jedi weapon via Drew Struzan’s D23 Expo poster art, now it looks like there is much more learn about the Force Awakens hero.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, is set to open on December 18, 2015 and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clark, Pip Anderson, Warwick Davis and Max von Sydow.
