The first shadowy image of Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch in the big screen adaptation of Assassin’s Creed has been released!Fassbender’s Lynch is a new character written for the film, and not one previously featured in the blockbuster video game series. Lynch unlocks memories that reveal he is descended from an ancient line of assassins. He attains the skills of his 15th century ancestor and sets on a course for a modern day battle against the Templar regime.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Directed by Justin Kurzel, Assassin’s Creed stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams and Ariane Labed.
Filming begins this week with a December 21st, 2016 release date set.
