The 2013 Toy Fair coverage continues. Mattel and MattyCollector.com held a special unveiling of their new products for fans and press who are in tune with items from Masters of the Universe, Batman, Watchmen, and Star Trek.
A true collector’s item was unveiled that easily hit the mark with old school fans of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. For those of us old enough to have been hooked on the ’80s Filmation animated show and maintained a generous toy shelf crammed with pieces from the original toy line, what we saw today was truly a marvel of retro appreciation.
The first public appearance of the highly detailed upgraded replica of the original Castle Grayskull playset and addition to Mattel’s line of Masters of the Universe Classics was one of the highlights of today’s kick off of the Toy Fair. The massive playset comes complete with all the accessories and features that we remember, hell I actually still have my old Castle Grayskull, including a throne room, jaw bridge, jail cell, elevator, Eternian flag and weapons rack.
