Justice League is currently shooting in London with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot reprising their BvS: Dawn of Justice roles as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. While we’re patiently waiting for the first official group shot of them along side the rest of the team, WB has released the film’s logo, synopsis and an image of the updated Batmobile.

Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder returns to helm the now standalone film which sees the DC Trinity align with Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to take on the New Gods villains of Apokolips, Steppenwolf with uber baddie Darkseid ultimately pulling the strings.

Producer Deborah Snyder made it clear she and husband Zack are on board for only one of the team-up adventures. WB has two Justice League films on the release schedule. Justice League, Part 2 has been set for June 14, 2019.

“We were only ever planning and we are only doing Justice League,” she told Vulture. “Just Justice League. One movie.”

Whether this means WB has only one Justice League movie on their slate or the Snyders are on board for only the first of the two confirmed Justice League films remains to be explicitly announced. But given the release schedule of the other DC heroes solo films after Justice League in 2017, it seems likely the Snyders are saying they are absolved of involvement with the (standalone) second film.

The point now is there still will be two Justice League films and they will each have self contained stories. Only the first movie will have Zack Synder directing and Deborah Snyder producing.

Here is the Justice League synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
