A new image from the upcoming Wonder Woman solo film reveals Gal Gadot‘s co-stars as the fierce Amazon warriors of Themyscira.
The latest official image from the movie currently in production, comes courtesy of Entertainment Weekly and gives us our first look at Diana in her ancient garb alongside her mother Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and aunts General Antiope (Robin Wright) and Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli).
Director Patty Jenkins had this to say about the conscious choices behind the armored costume design:
To me, they shouldn’t be dressed in armor like men.
It should be different. It should be authentic and real—and appealing to women.
I, as a woman, want Wonder Woman to be hot as hell, fight badass, and look great at the same time—the same way men want Superman to have huge pecs and an impractically big body. That makes them feel like the hero they want to be. And my hero, in my head, has really long legs.
Set for a June 23, 2017 release, Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis.
