Guardians of the Galaxy has been out for over two weeks (and passed $200 million at the domestic box office this weekend), so while this video could still be considered spoiler material to some, out of context it’s pretty harmless. Plus Marvel felt it was OK to release this certain feel good snippet from the movie frankly because fans demanded it.
For all of who have seen it, enjoy the funky moves of Baby Groot. If not, it may be best to go no further here and just go see Guardians of the Galaxy already.
Director James Gunn revealed to Yahoo that he actually provided the source material for the scene, not Vin Diesel, which was set to his favorite pop song of all time: the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.”
Baby Groot dancing is 100 percent me. I was too embarrassed for anyone to be there, so I made everyone leave the room and I set up a camera and I videotaped myself dancing. Then I sent the video to the animators and had them animate over that. I begged them not to leak the video!
