The Simpsons will have to find a new man behind the mic for Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders and Principle Skinner. Harry Shearer, who has been with the iconic animated Fox series for 26 seasons, will not be returning.
Variety reports the rest of the voice cast, Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria, recently upped their contracts for two more years and are set for seasons 27 and 28. Shearer did not reach an agreement as his colleagues did.
The actor took to Twitter to break the news to fans.

This because I wanted what we’ve always had: the freedom to do other work. Of course, I wish him the very best. (2/2) — Harry Shearer (@theharryshearer) May 14, 2015
