We’re probably all still holding our breaths after last night’s brutal and game changing battle sequence on Games of Thrones which raised the action bar to a new level. HBO has released the latest Anatomy of A Scene, a ten-minute look behind the curtain of the amazing work the stellar GoT crew put into making the epic throw down between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton.
“The most logistically complicated thing I’ve ever been involved in,” Battle of the Bastards director Miguel Sapochnik described the 25-day shoot.
According Entertainment Weekly, the face-off shot in Northern Ireland required 600 crew members, 500 extras, 160 tons of gravel, 25 horses, 25 stunt men and women, and four camera crews. Of course the numbers of extras and horses physically present on set were substantially increased once the visual effects wizards got their hands on the footage.
I don’t think any of us were disappointed.
