The Fantastic Four cast took to the Hall H stage at Comic-Con on Saturday in the final stretch of promotion for Josh Trank’s big screen reboot of Marvel’s First Family. Keeping the momentum moving, 20th Century Fox has just released a most impressive final trailer to the film, set for August 7th.
With less than a month to go, this near 3-minute epic trailer has been unleashed. But with mixed buzz on the film, little merchandising out there, limited promotion from Marvel Studios, and non-fanboy awareness about this reboot not flying high, is it too late to release what is without a doubt the best look at the film so far? This solid very sci-fi final look would have been likely far more effective had it been released two months ago.
We finally have a good glimpse of Toby Kebbell as Doom, lots of brute force shots of The Thing, and FX-laden hero shots of Reed Richards (Miles Teller), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) and Sue Storm (Kate Mara).
Here is the official Fantastic Four synopsis:
THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Written and directed by Josh Trank, Fantastic Four hits theaters on August 7th and stars Miles Teller (Reed Richards), Kate Mara (Sue Storm), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm), Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm) and Toby Kebbell (Doctor Doom).
