The cover gives us our first look at Munn in her Psylocke costume that is surprisingly true to the comic book source material. Munn teased her latex outfit on her Instagram account earlier this year. Isaac’s Apocalypse is as intimidating as we could have hoped for and the latest costume for Fassbender’s Magneto takes the master mutant’s Days of Future Past armor to the next level.

Additional images from the cover story reveal other members of the cast, including Alexandra Shipp sporting Storm’s signature mohawk as well as Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) wearing the latest armored X-Men costumes.

Apocalypse takes place a decade after the events of Days of Future Past, 1983 to be precise, and Mutants are now a well established part of society.

From EW:

As the new film opens, 10 years have passed and Raven (Lawrence), Charles (McAvoy), and Erik (Michael Fassbender) are still estranged, but not for much longer. The Big A awakens from his Egyptian tomb, sizes up the global ’80s vibe, and decides he’s not down with the Reagan era.

The cover has the villain posing with half of his Four Horseman, the remaining two are none other than Storm and (Alexandra Shipp) and Angel (Ben Hardy).

According to EW, Apocalypse recruits his allies in evil from different locations all over the world:

He finds teenage Storm living on the streets in Cairo, Angel duking it out in a fight club in Berlin, and Psylocke working behind the Iron Curtain for the mutant-broker Caliban. But his big get is Erik, who has been attempting to live a “normal” life in Poland.

“He’s fallen in love and he’s basically left his metal ways behind,” Fassbender tells the magazine. “Apocalypse finds Erik at a low ebb and recruits him.”
