While I have been no stranger to covering the New York Toy Fair related events throughout the year and the current action figure genre, I am going to kick off a new category here that will re-visit vintage and classic collectibles. For the foreseeable future these will be pieces from my own box of old beaten up toys I played with as a child of the ’80s. Needless to say I have more than enough to keep these posts going for quite a while.
The set of photos I took for the inaugural post in the Toy Vault series are of the 1982 He-Man 5 1/2″action figure from Mattel’s Masters of the Universe line. Dubbed “The Most Powerful Man In The Universe,” He-Man fought evil on Eternia, an alien world that blended science and magic. The action figure had twist waist action and came equipped with one half of the Power Sword, a shield, battle axe and armor.
