As planned, BBC One is set to debut the extended first look tonight, but it appears that the trailer teaser for the highly anticipated the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor that hit this morning was just that, a teaser.
It runs 40-seconds and leans heavily towards action over plot, but plays off as a sufficient sneak peek for the teaming of Matt Smith and David Tennant’s Doctors Eleven and Ten on November 23rd! BBC One tweeted this afternoon that the actual FULL trailer will debut tonight at 8pm UK time.
This teaser provides quick glimpses of John Hurt, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper, some Time War action and bad guy cameos from the Daleks and Zygons.
Hold tight for the extended look in a few hours…
Here is the official synopsis:
“In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.”
