Lucasfilm and Disney took to the D23 Expo stage earlier today with the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi to share new footage from the film via a behind the scenes video. Since then we’ve been on the receiving end of six stunning new character posters reveals that will have you seeing red.
If we need to over analyze, and we do, note that both Luke and Rey wield the Skywalker lightsaber in these images. Luke does not hold the saber he built as seen in Return of the Jedi, built to resemble Obi-Wan Kenobi’s (per Jedi training tradition).

Written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper), The Last Jedi stars returning cast members Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3P0) and the late Carrie Fisher (General Leia). Joining them will be Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran (Rose).
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set for release December 15, 2017.
