Wyld Stallyns Make a Most Triumphant Return in First “Bill & Ted Face the Music” Trailer

Has it almost been thirty years since San Dimas High’s own Bill and Ted were last seen on the big screen? The highly anticipated first trailer to Bill & Ted Face the Music, the follow-up to 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey and third entry in the iconic pop culture comedy series, is at last here on Bill & Ted Day.

When we rejoin the middle-aged time traveling adventurers (Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves), not only are they fathers of daughters and have far from stellar careers, strange things are still afoot as they have yet to write the song that was destined to bring peace to the world. So why not make things easy and just steal the tune from their future selves? Time to rev up the phone booth again and head back to the future.

William Sadler returns as the Grim Reaper, and additionally Wyld Stallyns: TNG will be played by Brigette Lundy-Paine (Billie Logan) and Samara Weaving (Theodora Preston). Reeves and Winter are also joined by cast mates Kid Cudi, Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, Hal Landon Jr. and Amy Stoch.

Needless to say the presence of the late greats George Carlin as Rufus, and Clarence Clemons as one of the Three Most Important People in the World, will be sorely missed.

Here is the film’s official synopsis:

The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan.  Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends – to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.

Bill & Ted Face the Music, directed by Bill Parisot (Galaxy Quest) is set for theaters on August 21, 2020.
