Every decade can be defined in part by the fashion. ’80s style certainly left a stone washed and fluorescent footprint in our memories. The first image from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse sure takes us back to the days when Pac Man mania was all the rage.
Director Bryan Singer shared this picture oh his Instagram account giving us the first look at Sophie Turner as Jean Grey and Lana Condor as Jubilee all decked out as mallrats in their ’80s civies. Following the ’70s set Days of Future Past, Apocalypse jumps into the next decade and will introduce us to younger versions of many familiar members of the X-Men team including Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm, Psylocke and Angel.
X-Men: Apocalypse‘s newcomer line-up included Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Ben Hardy (Angel), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Olivia Munn (Psylocke) and Lana Condor (Jubilee).
Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will play the titular villain Apocalypse. James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) will return in what is likely their final contracted appearances in the series. Evan Peters will return as Quicksilver.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.
