Of the too many Star Wars: Episode VII rumors and spoilers floating out there on the internet, it’s good every now and again to get a honest-to-God bit of welcome and official info on the film. All us fans are thrilled with the news that Star Wars and genre icon Warwick Davis will return to that galaxy far far away, as revealed in a tongue-in-cheek video skit that went viral today on the official Star Wars You Tube page.
Warwick played Wicket the Ewok in 1983’s Return of the Jedi (as well as the two Ewoks TV movies), and went on to star in Willow, the Leprechaun and Harry Potter series, and play various roles in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Episode VII director J.J. Abrams seems pretty committed to bringing back fan favorite actors in the latest chapter of the saga set 30 years after Jedi, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that Warwick has secured a role, if not multiple roles, in the next Star Wars film.
Star Wars: Episode VII, set to open on December 18, 2015, stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clark, Pip Anderson and Max von Sydow.
