With 2 months until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters, Lucasfilm and Disney dropped the news that the new trailer will debut tomorrow night at halftime during Monday Night Football on ESPN in addition to releasing this theatrical poster featuring some of the new faces to the series, classic heroes and imagery, plus some surprises.
The new trailer will debut tomorrow night at halftime on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. From the new cast we have Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron, BB-8,Maz Kanataand and Captain Phasma. Han Solo, Leia, Chewbacca, C-3P0 and R2-D2 represent the original trilogy films. Still no sign of Luke Skywalker, but feel free to troll the internet to read all the rumors as to why all the secrecy.
And before you can say “That’s no moon,” a big surprise on the poster is what appears to be the First Order’s planet sized super weapon. Even though the Empire was defeated, the next generation of bad guys just can shake the need for shock and awe Death Star worthy firepower.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, is set to open on December 18, 2015 and stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clark, Pip Anderson, Warwick Davis and Max von Sydow.
