Universal Pictures has gone full throttle into promoting The Fast and the Furious 7, revealing the film will be titled Furious 7, the first character banner, and week long countdown of events to the trailer debut. On November 1st at 12pm PST, a live Q&A from Universal Studios with cast members will be streamed online and broadcast on E! to coincide with the trailer release.
The series has had an unprecedented run as far as film franchises go, creatively making a huge comeback with the fourth installment and frankly running on all cylinders since then. The addition of Dwayne Johnson to the cast was an incredibly smart move, as was bringing back nearly every actor to appear in the series. The films have made it seem like an effortless task of balancing the signature amped up action with an underlying theme of family, and allows the series to soar with a truly unique soul.
This seventh installment bears a heavy burden with the tragic death of Paul Walker near the end of the film’s production. The decision was made to keep Walker in the film, make script adjustments to allow his character Brian O’Connor to exit series, and use a combination of CGI and Walker’s two brothers Caleb and Cody as stand-in’s, to film some remaining scenes.
