Lucasfilm makes it official and reveals the title of Star Wars Episode: VIII will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi!
The title and teaser poster to the next chapter in the saga series, unveiled on StarWars.com and social media, has a red logo likely a not so subtly nod to the letterhead of Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith.

We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.
THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper), The Last Jedi stars returning cast members Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata),Andy Serkis (Snoke), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and the late Carrie Fisher (General Leia). Joining the cast are Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
