DC Entertainment made sure Batman’s 75th Anniversary was well represented at this year’s New York Comic Con. In addition to a ceremony that kicked off the east coast convention with the first day issue of a limited edition set of commemorative stamps, the Batman75 tour also found a home for four days in NYC’s Javits Center. Last year DC Entertainment brought the Superman Costume Tour to New York Comic Con, and this year the live action legacy of Batman was honored.
We will have an in-depth photo report on the Costume Tour which includes the screen worn Batsuits from Batman, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin and The Dark Knight Rises. But right now we’re sharing images of the cape and cowl from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that Ben Affleck will be wearing. The body of the suit is still being kept under a cloak of mystery beyond the images officially released by Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder. What we do see here are the smaller bat ears and two tiny nose holes for Bruce Wayne / Ben Affleck to breath through in the cowl. Also there are forged angry eyebrows, which lends to the suit’s intimidation factor.
I was able to get some solid close-ups of the cape and cowl, which was all that was on display here. Getting really solid images was a bit difficult because the costumes are set up at NYCC where there is a lot of natural light reflected in the glass cases during the day and overhead fluorescent light during the evening. Needless to say, the necessary protection of these cinematic treasures makes photography difficult in the least.
