We got an intense preview clip Monday night during Gotham on FOX, and now as expected the latest full length trailer to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is here and it does not disappoint!! Ben Affleck stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk up the film and present this latest sneak peak to the epic showdown between the DC Comics icons.
To quote an old fiend: “And here we go…”
The cat is finally officially out of the bag: The whole film isn’t going to be Batman versus Superman. Say hello to the film’s big bad that unites the DC Trinity: Doomsday!
The tone of the trailer is by far the most lighthearted of all the so far very dark promos, this one showing off some humorous banter between the main characters, especially with a red carpet interview between Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, in addition to the first real look at Jesse Eisenberg’s very eccentric Lex Luthor. Let’s not ignore a not-so-subtle nod to the brutal murder of Robin at the hands of The Joker care of Bruce Wayne and an epic hero shot reveal of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman standing tall along side the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight against Luthor’s own Genral Zod-spawned Frankenstein’s monster Doomsday.
Kimmel’s late night talk show has been on a fan boy friendly roll as of late, scoring a big Star Wars: The Force Awakens episode as well as getting to world premiere the teaser trailer to Captain America: Civil War. Of course this is all due to Disney synergy (ABC is owned by the House of Mouse). Why Warner Bros. went with ABC for this trailer debut is a bit up in the air, especially since The CW concluded the big Arrow/The Flash two-part cross-over event tonight. You’d think the premiere of this trailer would be a no-brainer extra boost for the CW ratings, but why ask why these days.
Here is the official BvS synopsis:
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
