Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and the fire is ablazing. You can now add The Hollywood Reporter and Variety to the list of sources confirming Game of Thrones and Conan The Barbarian star Jason Momoa’s casting as the King of Atlantis in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Over the weekend, HitFix was the first to go on the record that Momoa, who had been no stranger to the casting rumor mill for Zack Snyder’s film, had indeed finally signed on the dotted line to play DC Comics underwater icon and founding member of the Justice League.
The Hollywood Reporter had the scoop in December that the GoT muscle man was in talks to join Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck in the film, which even then was rumored as a stage setter for the Justice League big screen team-up film of DC’s biggest heroes.
Momoa also posted this image to his Instagram account, holding a trident and obviously acknowledging that the cat is just about out of the bag (save for the official and imminent casting announcement from Warner Bros.).
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Zack Snyder at the helm, is set for May 6th, 2016 and stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Holly Hunter.
