Michelle MacLaren, known for her outstanding work behind the camera on Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, and recipient of accolades as an executive producer on Breaking Bad, has been tapped to develop and direct Warner Bros. big screen Wonder Woman solo film set for 2017.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, MacLaren will work with the film’s still unnamed screenwriters to develop the adventure of for the iconic DC Comics Amazon starring Gal Gadot in the title role. The film is still a long way off before it hits the big screen on June 23, 2017, and by that time Gadot will have already appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Plot rumors have already started which place the solo film’s timeline decades before the events of BvS.
Gadot will be seen again alongside Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck in Justice League, which follows Wonder Woman about five months later on November 17th.
Wonder Woman also has Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder on board as producers.
