Well isn’t this just a breath and a half of awesome? The new trailer for Tomorrowland hit today and is a perfect example of how holding back on all out spectacle and meaty plot points in the first few sneak peeks eventually pays off when it’s finally time to hit the narrative and visual accelerators.
In the film directed by Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, The Impossibles), George Clooney plays former child inventor Frank Walker who can cross over into Tomorrowland, “a secret place… where nothing is impossible.” The futuristic fantasy land is where apparently the brightest men and women visit to improve humanity’s technology and way of life. When Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) inadvertently stumbles upon a virtual doorway to that world, she is recruited to help save it from a yet unknown threat.
This trailer is a true visual treat packed with old school Spielberg-esque wonderment. The FX look top notch and thankfully there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the plot.
Here is the film’s official synopsis:
