Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 just added some extra muscle to the cast. Arrow ‘s Stephen Amell has been tapped to join the cast as the hockey masked fan favorite Casey Jones. I think his telling tweet is confirmation enough.

Variety reports Amell tested with several other actors over the weekend for the role, but it was his chemistry with Megan Fox that sealed the deal. Fox returns in the sequel as April O’Neil along with William Fichtner as Eric Sachs.
Playing a masked vigilante should come easy for the Arrow star, who is well equipped to kick major ass on screen and will be trading in his long bow for baseball bats, hockey sticks and golf clubs. In most of the various TMNT lore, Jones becomes an ally to the turtles and a love interest for April O’Neil.
The film is set for June 3, 2016 and begins production soon in New York City. Earth to Echo director David Green is set to helm from a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec.
