TOY FAIR 2013: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Return To The Toy Fair

Playmates Toys once again pulled no punches when it came to their elaborate Toy Fair booth set up to showcase the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line of action figures, play sets, vehicles and role play accessories. Nerdy Rotten Scoundrel.com toured to booth at the Javits center in New York City to check out what we can look forward to in 2013.

In addition to the collections based on the hit Nickelodeon animated show that appeals to the younger generation of new fans, the Classic Line of TMNT figures are still sure to strike a nerve with us older kids and collectors who have fond memories of the heroes in the half shell from their ’80s and ’90s incarnations. The iconic pizza loving superheroes Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo are joined by April O’Neil, Shredder, Splinter and newcomers Rock Steady and BeBop to the various lines which include Throw N’ Battle, Flingers and Battle Shell which allows weapons to be stored in the Turtles’ shell.

The planned (and controversial ‘will they or won’t they be aliens?’) big screen feature film produced by Michael Bay and to be directed by Jonathan Liebsman (Battle: Los Angeles) is targeted for release next year. Playmates Toys is set to be on deck with a toy line to coincide with the film.
