We’re finally in the home stretch to the release of  X-Men: Days of Future Past, the highly anticipated latest entry in the series. 20th Century Fox dropped an action-packed  sneak peek at the opening moments of  the film yesterday, and as promised tonight we have the final trailer to hold us over until the film’s release next month on May 23rd.

DOFP marks the welcome return of director Bryan Singer and unites the Mutant casts from the original X-Men films and X-Men: First Class against Dr. Bolivar Trask’s robotic Sentinels in a dark timeline-spanning adventure. Good and evil Mutants alike find their existence threatened in both the 1970s and subsequent dystopian future.

This third and last trailer is targeted for the masses, focusing on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, in addition to spelling out the intricate plot pretty well and including far more light moments than any other of the previous previews permitted. This is to be expected, because all us X-Men fans have been on board big time from the beginning, and the last two trailers painted a pretty bleak picture. This one is to recruit civilian butts into theater seats.

That said… Enjoy.
