STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer Has Arrived!

Did you hear that? That was the sound of millions of voices crying out in joy when the Millennium Falcon roared back into action as John Williams’ Star Wars main theme kicked in!

To describe the teaser trailer to Star Wars: The Force Awakens as “highly anticipated” wouldn’t even begin to correctly assess it. We have all been in a fan frenzy countdown since it was confirmed earlier this week by J.J. Abrams that an 88-second sneak peek at the Star Wars sequel set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi would be unleashed today. The original plan set the debut exclusively at select theaters across North America, but the powers that be at Disney and Lucas Film thought better of such a selective first look later announced it would also be available at iTunes Trailers today as well.

It goes without saying every old school Star Wars fan has wondered what happened next for Luke, Han and Leia after the defeat of the Empire, and frankly it seemed like a foregone conclusion for decades that we would never have that answered on the big screen. So it’s surreal to know the old crew will be reuniting for Episodes VII, VIII and IX.

So feast your eyes on this, with minimal lens flare…

As promised, this is a TEASER, so for the most part we get quick shots of only the new cast members. John Boyega’s character is indeed as rumored a Stormtrooper (at least in the beginning of the film). So some of the other leaked plot points are probably valid as well. We see Oscar Isaac in full Rebel gear piloting one of the new X-wing fighters and Daisy Ridley presumably on the same desert planet as Boyega. A new Sith is revealed with a swanky red lightsaber, a squad of modified Storm Troopers, a new astromech droid,  and then of course that money shot of the Millennium Falcon.  Nothing of the returning cast unfortunately, so there is much much more yet to be revealed!
