Robert Downey Jr. Delivers A Bionic Iron Man Arm To Seven-Year-Old Fan

Well this is a heartwarming video if there ever was one. Working along with Limbitless Solutions, Robert Downey Jr.made a surprise visit to seven-year-old superhero fan Alex, who was born with a partially developed arm. The Avengers star presented to him, from a Stark Industries case no less, an amazing Iron Man bionic limb.

“Had the absolute privilege of presenting a brand spanking new 3D-printed bionic Iron Man arm to Alex, the most dapper 7-year-old I’ve ever met,” RDJ said on his Facebook page today.

The device was designed by Albert Manero, a doctoral student in mechanical engineering at the University of Central Florida, who builds and donates 3D-printed bionic limbs to children all around the globe. The cost of materials to build such an arm runs just $350 according to CNET.

It’s really worth watching Alex’s reaction to Downey (who for the most part, sans one great moment, stays in his Marvel character), and then his pure fan boy joy as he and Tony Stark himself share a real life superhero moment with a mutual Iron Man armor fist bump.
