A new teaser spot for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes aired during the season finale of The Walking Dead. Calling back to imagery that provided the first reveal of the apes in the 1968 classic Planet of the Apes, this new sneak peek shows the simians riding on horseback. Set 10 years after the events of 2011’s reboot of the series Rise of the Planet of the Apes that nearly wipe out mankind, the follow-up chronicles Caesar’s further pursuit of the conquest of Earth.
Official synopsis:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), Dawn arrives in theaters on July 11 and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Judy Greer.
