Entertainment Weekly gave us a preview of a poster featuring concept art of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange set to be given to fans attending Comic Con in San Diego next weekend.
The image by artist Ryan Meinerding gives us a great sneak peek look at the Sherlock actor using his powers as Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme.
Are there similarities between the legendary super sleuth he plays on the hit BBC America show and the magic wielding Marvel icon? “The two men are intelligent,” he told EW. “Finito,” he added. “That’s it. Stephen Strange is a lover, he’s a materialist, he’s arrogant, but he’s got a great sense of humor. There are smatterings of the same colors that Sherlock has, but he’s not on the spectrum.”
Doctor Strange, directed by Scott Derrickson, is set for release on November 4, 2016.
The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo), Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One), Mads Mikkelsen, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Scott Adkins and Amy Landecker.
