First Look At Ryan Reynolds In ‘Action’ As DEADPOOL. R-Rating Confirmed

On April 1st, it’s hard to take anything on the web today seriously much less believe any bit of news that even almost seems too good to be true. But all things considered, the tone of this faux Extra interview with Ryan Reynolds talking about Deadpool going all PG-13 fits April Fools Day perfectly.

What at first looks like a typical satellite interview between Ryan Reynolds and Extra host Mario Lopez where they discuss if Deadpool is better off with a family friendly rating rather quickly turns into a quirky skit complete with an appearance by the Merc with a Mouth himself.

Between this video and tweets from Reynolds today (April Fools be damned it seems in this case), it appears Deadpool will get that R rating after all.

So Deadpool‘s first promotional task is to take out A.C. Slater. Whether that is actually Reynolds in costume could be up for debate. Lopez is in Extra‘s Universal Studios space in Los Angeles and Reynolds is up north in Vancouver shooting the film (or he may have been interviewed in NYC while doing press for Woman In Gold this week). Regardless, looking at the way the skit is pieced together, Reynolds all suited up may have been inserted into the clip in post.

Deadpool, set for a February 12, 2016 release, stars Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson/Deadpool), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Ed Skrein, and Gina Carano (Angel Dust).
