DAY OF THE DOCTOR Teaser Trailer Traces DOCTOR WHO’s 50 Year History

We’re about a month away from the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, which falls on November 23rd and works out nicely for the BBC’s event worldwide simulcast of the show’s half century episode, The Day of The Doctor.

This new clever teaser trailer narrated by Matt Smith traces the iconic Time Lord’s history from the first Doctor, William Hartnell, to the iconic scarf wearing Tom Baker, to Smith, the current curator of the TARDIS. OK sure, so no actual footage from the episode itself is in this teaser, it looks like the BBC is gonna let this simmer as long as it can.

The Day of the Doctor, shot in 3D, teams Matt Smith and David Tennant for the first time. John Hurt joins the adventure as well as Billie Piper as Rose Tyler and current Who companion Jenna Coleman (who has dropped the Louise from her billings). This anniversary show will also be the penultimate adventure for Smith’s Eleventh Doctor, who will meet his demise at year’s end in the Who Christmas Special and regenerate into number Twelve, or will it be Thirteen (set to be played by Peter Capaldi)?
